Vitamin B6 Deficiency

Assess whether you present clinical signs of vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) deficiency.

Vitamin B6, or pyridoxine, is a cofactor for more than 150 enzymatic reactions. It is essential for neurotransmitter synthesis (serotonin, dopamine, GABA), homocysteine metabolism, and hemoglobin formation. B6 deficiency manifests through neuromuscular disorders (spasmophilia, tetany) and oral lesions. This questionnaire is particularly relevant for women using oral contraception, who have increased pyridoxine requirements, as well as for people suffering from premenstrual syndrome.

Points forts

  • + Rapid identification of clinical signs
  • + Simple self-assessment test
  • + Detection of neuromuscular and oral signs linked to pyridoxine deficiency

Limites

  • - Does not replace blood testing
  • - Some signs may have other causes
  • - Limited sensitivity for subclinical deficiencies
