Toxemia: acidic waste
Assess your level of acidic waste overload (uric acid, lactic acid, oxalic acid). These wastes, resulting primarily from excess protein, refined sugars and stimulants, irritate and inflame tissues.
This questionnaire assesses your level of acidic waste (crystal) overload according to Marchesseau. Crystals are irritating wastes resulting primarily from excess animal protein and purines. They deposit in the joints, kidneys and connective tissues, causing inflammatory pain, stones and rheumatism.
Points forts
- +Distinction between acid and colloidal overload to target the cure
- +Evaluation of inflammatory and rheumatic terrain
- +Directs toward the emunctories to stimulate (kidneys, sudatory skin)
Limites
- -Naturopathic concept not recognized by conventional medicine
- -Subjective self-assessment of symptoms
- -Symptoms may have multiple causes

Maintenir votre équilibre
Sustained hydration
Drink 1.5 to 2 liters of low-mineral water daily to maintain good renal filtration of acids. The kidneys are your main emunctory for elimination of crystalloid wastes. Sufficient hydration dilutes urinary acids and prevents the formation of kidney stones (calcium oxalates, urates).
Moderation of animal proteins
Maintain moderate consumption of animal proteins (red meat 2 times per week maximum, processed meats occasionally) as their catabolism generates the main crystalloid acids: uric acid (purines), sulfuric and phosphoric acid (sulfur-containing amino acids). Plant proteins (legumes, oleaginous seeds) are less acidifying.
Regular movement and perspiration
Practice moderate daily physical activity that promotes sweating (brisk walking, cycling, swimming) to activate sudatory skin, the second emunctory for acid elimination according to Marchesseau. Perspiration evacuates volatile acids and excess acid mineral salts, relieving kidney function.

Reduce purine sources
Significantly decrease purine-rich foods that generate uric acid: organ meats (liver, kidneys), red meat, game, processed meats, shellfish, sardines, anchovies. Replace with less acidifying proteins: white fish, organic poultry in moderate quantity, eggs, well-cooked legumes (lentils, chickpeas) that provide protein without excessive purine load.
Eliminate acidifying stimulants
Coffee is a powerful acidifier that overloads the kidneys with uric acid and stimulates the adrenal gland (cortisol production, which is acidifying). Reduce to a maximum of 1 cup per day, then replace with green tea (less acidifying, rich in antioxidants). Eliminate alcohol for at least 1 month: ethanol generates acetaldehyde, an acid that monopolizes the liver's detoxification capacity.
Renal drainage through plants
Birch (Betula pendula) as herbal tea or fresh sap is the reference renal drainer in naturopathy for elimination of acidic crystals. Pilosella (Hieracium pilosella) is a powerful diuretic that doubles urine volume and accelerates uric acid excretion. Take 2 to 3 cups of herbal tea daily for 3 weeks, alternating these two plants.
Activate sudatory skin
The skin is the second emunctory for acid elimination. Stimulate perspiration through warm baths (38-40 degrees, 20 minutes), sauna (1 to 2 sessions per week), or regular physical exercise that promotes sweating. Dry skin brushing in the morning (circular movements toward the heart) activates cutaneous microcirculation and facilitates elimination of acidic toxins.
Alkalize with green vegetables
Significantly increase your consumption of green vegetables at each meal: spinach, broccoli, green beans, zucchini, leeks, green salads. They provide alkaline mineral salts (potassium, magnesium, calcium) in the form of citrates and malates, which directly neutralize circulating acids. Steamed potato is one of the most alkalizing foods.
Anti-inflammatory blackcurrant
Blackcurrant (Ribes nigrum) as bud macerate (gemmotherapy) is a natural anti-inflammatory of the cortisone-like type that relieves joint pain related to acid deposits. Take 15 drops of glycerin macerate in the morning on an empty stomach for 3 months. It also stimulates the adrenal glands and promotes renal elimination of uric acid.

Strict anti-acid dietary reform
For a minimum of 3 months, adopt a plant-dominant diet: 80% vegetables (cooked and raw), ripe fruits, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash. Reduce animal proteins to 3 meals per week (white fish, organic poultry). Completely eliminate: red meat, processed meats, organ meats, coffee, alcohol, refined sugars, sodas, ultra-processed foods. These are the main sources of crystalloid acidic wastes.
Intensive birch and pilosella cure
Stimulate renal drainage through an intensive 6-week cure: birch (Betula pendula) as decoction or fresh sap in the morning (drains uric acid and stones), pilosella (Hieracium pilosella) as infusion in the afternoon (doubles urine volume). Add goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) if urinary tract infections are frequent, as it is both diuretic and urinary antiseptic.
Urgent remineralization
Your mineral reserves are probably depleted. Take daily: magnesium citrate (400 mg), potassium citrate (300 mg), lithotamne (1 g for calcium and trace elements), organic silicon (for nails and joints). Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) as decoction (rich in silica) and nettle in capsules (rich in iron and minerals) complete this remineralization over 3 months.
Therapeutic perspiration
Sudatory skin is your second pathway for acid elimination and must be activated intensively. Practice 2 to 3 saunas or hammams per week, supplemented by hyperthermic baths (warm water 38-40 degrees, 20 min) on other days. Moderate daily physical exercise (brisk walking, cycling) that promotes sweating is essential. Dry skin brushing morning and evening stimulates cutaneous microcirculation.
Naturopathic consultation essential
A score this high requires professional guidance. A naturopath will assess your constitution (sanguine, bilious, nervous, lymphatic), your temperament and vital force to adapt the drainage protocol. They can also prescribe urinary testing (24-hour pH, uric acid, oxalates) and verify kidney function before intensifying drainage.
Stress management and lactic acid
Chronic stress produces excess lactic acid through permanent muscle contraction and accelerated cellular catabolism. Cardiac coherence (3 times 5 minutes per day), gentle yoga and daily stretching reduce lactic acid production. Magnesium supplementation helps relax muscle tension and reduce acid production related to stress.
