A six-year-old arrives at my consultation with their parents, arms crossed, dark look. “He won’t eat any vegetables, we’ve tried everything.” I pull out my Hurom, peel two oranges in front of him, add five carrots. The juice falls into the glass, neon orange, an irresistible scent.

Bioactive molecules
The carrot sweetens everything and the neon orange color is irresistible for a child¹. Beta-carotene (8,285 mcg/100 g) supports growth, vision and immunity, with dosage self-regulated by the liver². Orange hesperidin enhances vitamin C absorption and strengthens capillaries³. It’s the ultimate introductory juice: 50% carrot, 50% orange, and even the most reluctant will ask for more⁴.
The ultimate immunity juice. Carrot and orange for massive vitamin C and beta-carotene intake.
The carrot’s beta-carotene and orange’s vitamin C enhance each other mutually. This juice is also rich in rutin which strengthens microcirculation. Perfect for cold feet and hands in winter, and for a luminous complexion even in January.

Preparation with juice extractor
Ingredients:
- 4 organic carrots
- 1 sweet red apple
- 6 to 8 strawberries
Peel the orange to the flesh (remove the thick white skin) but keep the thin white membrane between the segments: it contains hesperidin, a bioflavonoid that enhances vitamin C.
What I personally think
My daughter isn’t really into vegetables. I tried shredded carrots, purees, soups: nothing worked. Until the day I made her a 50% carrot, 50% orange juice with the extractor. She drank the whole glass without flinching. She didn’t even notice. Since then, it’s her snack time juice. The carrot goes unnoticed in the sweet taste of the orange, and I know she’s getting her full dose of beta-carotene without even knowing it. It’s the perfect juice for gently introducing vegetables into children’s lives.
My recommended extractor
For this recipe, I use the Hurom H320N. Cold pressing preserves the integrity of enzymes, vitamins and phytonutrients that the heat from a centrifuge would destroy.
